White Water Rafting in Uganda, is one of the most popular things to do in Uganda (besides the gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park of course) is. Even though it is quite expensive (more about that later), I decided to give it a go. And like most things in Uganda, it was an experience (a fun one that’s for sure!).
I think everyone who’s has been rafting, has their funny stories. But to give you a general idea of what a day of white water rafting in Uganda looks like, I’ll share my personal notes here.
I usually keep a journal when I’m traveling and I also wrote about our day of white water rafting on the Nile. Reading my own notes just makes me burst into tears (from laughter) again. And it brings all those memories back alive. So I thought I would share my white water rafting experience with you. And share some tips as well.
WHITE WATER RAFTING IN UGANDA: PRACTICAL INFO
I already told you that white water rafting in Uganda is quite expensive, about 140 USD. But it is almost full day activity. You can either book a tour from Kampala. In that case, you will be picked up early in the morning and return around 6 in the afternoon. But you can also arrange it while you’re already in Jinja.
The two main organizations for white water rafting in Uganda are the Nile River Explorers and ADRIFT. I booked my activity through the Jinja Basecamp hostel and they worked together with Nile River Explorers. So this review is mostly about them. Although white water rafting in Uganda takes the same rapids anyway, so I think it won’t differ that much.
Besides white water rafting, there are some other activities you can do on the Nile too like kayaking, tubing and Horseback Riding.
